I am so fortunate and honored to have worked with Ron Kobayashi on this CD, a jazz piano legend in Southern California. Ron has worked with so many jazz greats throughout the years. A special bonus was the opportunity to sing a couple duets with Sinatra-style crooner (and drummer), Bryan Cabrera. Sam Montooth added his special touch on bass, too. We all had a blast making this come alive, with the help of many other very gifted people!
When I first met Ron Kobayashi in 2010, I was more accustomed to singing R&B. He allowed me to sit in at a regular jazz gig and I quickly became swept away by jazz, especially the standards. Watching Ron on piano is just astounding, so it’s no wonder. The rest was history, and now I am pleased to share my passion with you!
